Hoshit - I accidentally slept through Ringer last night, so I downloaded it and just watched it. I have no words. Just... SHIT. O_________O

I think every day, I adore Kristen Stewart a little more. I bought Adventureland ages ago and just got around to watching it the other day, and I'd been meaning to catch Speak for awhile now, after hearing so many good things about it. So I read the book first, finished it today, and watched the movie today. I don't understand how anyone who has seen her in her films outside Twilight could possibly think she's a bad actress :/ To each their own though, I suppose. There are a few more films I need to watch (and probably re-watch, like The Runaways!) and I plan on doing so ASAP, but I also sort of want to pace myself, because I will be so sad when I have no more to watch. I'm not interested in her fandom or anything like that; I watch a community here on LJ for her for news and things, but I don't care about pap photos and all that other random stuff (hell, I'm barely even into that with TH anymore). I just want her to be in tons and tons of movies *~* At least she's got quite a few new ones lined up that sound amazing, but they're all so far away! :)







(I need to stop looking at the tag for her on tumblr, the sheer amounts of hatred and vitriol make blocking people an endless task :( I don't get why so many people enjoy posting about and talking about things they hate!)

Kristen was perfect in Speak, I will allow no ill to be said about her performance or the story itself. (And if you liked the book, you should check out Twisted, Wintergirls, and Prom.)

I don't think a lot of the "she's a bad actress" crap comes from her actual performance so much as the fact that she's in Twilight and it's cool to hate on Twilight.

I'll keep those in mind! It was kind of interesting, I know it was partly bias because I knew when I started reading the book that Kristen played that character, of course, but I think it was such a perfect role for her that I would've thought of Kristen even if there was no movie.

I think that definitely accounts for a lot of it, but there are also a lot of people who dislike her just to dislike her; many are even Twilight fans. So many people aren't used to those in ~typically famous~ professions like acting that... just don't want to be famous, and don't like it. They act like she's ungrateful, and I see people twist her words all the time to reinforce that. And I think one of the things that pisses me off the most is that a lot of people hate on her for being awkward, and for doing things like stumbling over her words and not always looking happy. It's some kind of high school mentality they apparently never grew out of :/

Laurie Halse Anderson is an amazing author. As soon as I saw Kristen playing the role, I knew she was perfect for Melinda. She was just walking down a hallway too.

The Twilight fangirls dislike her because they want to be Bella. Like the Tom-girls who wanted to kill Chantelle and Nicole for being in the same picture as Tom; it doesn't actually have to make sense.

Also, liek, oh em gee, she's, liek, human!? Instant hate!

Dumb people can stick to their A-listers.
